A weighed quantity of samples is mixed with quantity of calcium carbide reagent and the whole mixture is thoroughly shaken in a vessel to which a pressure gauge is fixed. The acetylene gas produced develops pressure. The instrument indicates moisture on Wet freight basis easily convertible to dry weight basis. The unit consists of a pressure vessel with clamp for sealing cap. rubber sealing gasket. Pressure gauge calibrated in percentage moisture content O -25% on wet weight basis. A counter poised balance for weighing sample. a scoop for measuring carbide reagent. One bottle of reagent approx. 450 gram. One cleans brush and steel balls for through mixing. Complete in wooden carrying box with handle.
